About
My name is Matthew Chalton. I am a 21 year old student currently in my last year of a Computer Games Development course at Carlow IT, Ireland. Although I've lived in Ireland for nearly 12 years now, I was born in Chester (England), and still regard myself as English. (..I have also somehow retained my English accent)
I decided on this field mainly due to my love of video games, and my affinity for maths. After 4 years, I believe I made the right decision. There have been times when I've started working, and the next time I look at the clock, 6 hours have gone by. I think the fact that I enjoy problem solving has played a large part in this.

4th Year Project: Large scale space battles (20000 x 20000 units)

4th Year Project: Multiple weapon types. Each have different types of ammo / damage / rate of fire. Callbacks tell weapon when target is dead
4th Year Project: Unit AI. Smaller ships will always go forward to move. Large ships will turn on the spot. Units will automatically attack enemies within range. Units will avoid planets / stars.
